Creative Dance - Age 5-6
Abstract ideas such as colors, shapes, and feelings are brought alive through dance, often with the use of props and costumes. Dancers are presented with variety of musical styles rhythms. Floor exercises stretch and strengthen and help to develop good posture. Students become acquainted with dance class etiquette. Creative movement activities stretch the mind and the imagination.

Pre-Ballet & Ballet 1 - Age 6-8
In the Pre-ballet and Ballet 1 levels we continue to cultivate and nurture a joy for dancing while introducing children to the basics of classical ballet technique. Classes will retain the imaginative aspects elements of creative dance class with the addition of simple ballet steps at barre and in center. Students learn basic beginning ballet vocabulary. The introduction of steps across the floor and in formation develops coordination and spatial awareness.

Modern/ Jazz
This beginner/intermediate class combines modern and jazz techniques that help the dancer to understand space, time (rhythm), shape, movement dynamics, alignment and centering.

The modern aspect explores fall/recovery, shaping the surrounding space, expression and imagery. Jazz dance involves learning to cut through the space using staccato movement, body isolations and lateral movement/turns

The class starts off with technical warm-up exercises and floor barre to condition the body/mind for strength, flexibility, coordination and memory. We explore movement further with longer combinations in the center floor.  With the teacher’s guidance, dancers learn to listen to their bodies, become grounded/connected with the earth, and explore different ways of moving. Class goals include fuller, more expressive movement, and the confidence that comes from being strong and centered - things that greatly improve performance skills.

Alexander Technique
The Alexander Technique is an invaluable tool for dancers and non-dancers alike. Study of the Alexander Technique helps to prevent injuries and reduce tension, as it improves awareness, coordination, placement, balance, and stage presence. Cathy Hazeltine Fallon applies her extensive knowledge of the dancer's anatomy to help dancers with "less than perfect ballet bodies" to gain an understanding of how to access more turnout, to lengthen their classical line, and to dance with greater freedom through improved alignment.
